JOHANNESBURG: Four Pakistani nationals were shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Sebenza, a suburb east of Johannesburg, in what South African police believe appears to be a targeted attack.
According to police, the victims were driving home when attackers in another vehicle opened fire from both sides after the victims stopped at a traffic signal. All four men died at the scene.
Investigators recovered multiple 9mm shell casings from the scene. Police said the circumstances suggest the shooting was a targeted killing, and an investigation is underway to identify the motive and locate the suspects.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed grief over the deaths of the four Pakistanis and extended her condolences to their families, describing the incident as deeply tragic.
