At least 30,000 displaced people have sought protection in shelters in Lebanon since hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah began on Monday, the United Nations refugee agency said on Tuesday.

“Conservative estimates suggest that nearly 30,000 people were hosted and registered at collective shelters,” said UNHCR spokesperson Babar Baloch.

“Many more slept in their cars on the side of roads or were still stuck in traffic jams on the roads,” he added.

The Pakistan Airports Authority has announced a partial closure of its airspace for commercial flights until the end of March, following widespread regional air disruptions caused by the Middle East conflict.

Over 150 international flights connecting Pakistani cities with Middle Eastern destinations have been cancelled.

According to the authority, certain route segments in the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions will be closed daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (04:00 to 10:00 GMT) starting Tuesday through March 31, citing “operational reasons.”

At least five people have been killed and 25 injured in a US-Israeli attack on residential neighbourhoods in Hamadan, western Iran, Mehr news agency is reporting.

The report added that the strikes hit populated areas, causing civilian casualties.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the ongoing tensions with Iran are actually part of a larger conspiracy aimed at expanding Israeli influence up to Pakistan’s borders.

He said that since the establishment of Israel, most of the problems faced by the Muslim world have been driven by Zionist ideology, and that even global powers have not remained unaffected by this influence.

Asif added that Pakistan is a nuclear power and that the professional capability of its armed forces is recognized worldwide. He recalled that through its nuclear tests, Pakistan clearly demonstrated its defensive strength on the global stage.

He further stated that in light of the changing situation in the region, the nation needs to remain vigilant. According to him, any potential alignment of interests among Afghanistan, Israel, and India could also be directed against Pakistan, making national unity and awareness an urgent necessity.

[11:57 AM]-Hezbollah attacks on Israeli bases after strikes in Lebanon

Hezbollah said it had launched attacks on three Israeli military bases following Israeli strikes across Lebanon, including in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

The Lebanese militant group stated that, “in response to the criminal Israeli aggression on dozens of Lebanese cities and towns,” its fighters carried out drone strikes targeting the Ramat David air base and the Meron base in northern Israel.

In separate statements, the Iran-backed group also said it fired a barrage of rockets at a military base in the occupied Golan Heights.

According to Arab media, Iran carried out attacks on Gulf countries using 450 missiles and 1,140 drones.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed the attack, after which the embassy has been temporarily closed.

Additionally, Iranian media reported that five members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed in the latest attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel.
