Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reportedly refused to sign the Abraham Accords with Israel, a move that has left US President Donald Trump displeased.
The claim has been made by Israeli media, which states that the Crown Prince did not immediately agree to normalizing ties with Israel despite Trump’s strong push.
According to reports, the matter of the Abraham Accords was the main topic during last week’s meeting between the two leaders. President Trump urged Mohammed bin Salman to move quickly toward establishing formal relations with Israel.
However, the Saudi Crown Prince made it clear that although he is not opposed to the idea in principle, the strong anti-Israel sentiment in Saudi Arabia following the Gaza war makes such a decision impossible at the moment.
US officials say the conversation remained polite, but President Trump appeared visibly unhappy with the Crown Prince’s stance. A senior American official told Israeli media that while Mohammed bin Salman did not rule out normalizing ties in the future, he emphasized that a two-state solution remains a key condition.
