Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, has not tweeted in almost ten days, which cannot go undetected.

The billionaire tycoon, age 51, has 100 million followers on the microblogging service he intends to acquire.

The tech billionaire’s ongoing absence is odd, given that he is notoriously active on social media.

Since April, he has been in the news for the $44 billion deal and his statements and concerns regarding the prevalence of several phoney Twitter accounts.

During the business transaction, he also made comments on the ‘imminent’ global population crisis.

Despite his absence, Musk has received criticism from various sources.

“@ElonMusk claims to be a moderate/centrist, but he exposed himself as the fraud he is this week. Every day he tweets attacks on moderate Democrats, but in a week where Republican extremists go full Gilead — no tweets in 4 days. Convenient. Cc: media, stop buying his lies. (sic)” tweeted Democratic pundit and US non-profit advisor Kaivan Shroff.

Meanwhile, Matthew Greeley, founder and CEO of software company Brightidea, hypothesised that Elon Musk’s rigorous schedule must keep him occupied. “Where is @elonmusk? No tweets in seven days? Signing papers?” he wrote.

Another user remarked, “And just like that @elonmusk stopped tweeting”.

His final post was on June 22, a SpaceX answer. In 2020 and 2019, he reportedly took a social media break.

Musk’s SpaceX obtained authorization from US regulators to deliver its Starlink broadband-from-space service to cars, watercraft, and aircraft.

The international news agency reports that Musk is inching closer to buying Twitter as Tesla struggles with production issues in China and weak output growth at new factories in Texas and Berlin.
