UAE healthcare goes digital: AI, predictive models shine at Arab health

At Arab Health 2024, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) will jointly present a number of cutting-edge projects and digital health services.

‘Emirates Health’

The projects on display, which are housed under a single national platform called “Emirates Health,” are meant to draw attention to ongoing and planned efforts to develop the health sector completely and effectively, increase its competitiveness, adaptability, and efficacy, and enhance living standards in accordance with the national strategy priorities.

A diverse array of cutting-edge projects and initiatives, including those that explore the relationship between health and climate change and make use of digital technologies, predictive models, health information systems, and more, will be on display at MoHAP.

These programs are a component of the Ministry’s strategic vision, which aims to raise community standards for public health, improve preventive health measures, and guarantee the provision of proactive, high-quality healthcare services.

Projects and Programmes

One of the initiatives on display is an AI-powered dashboard meant to improve the Emergency and Crisis Center’s capabilities.

In addition, there is a project to analyze the carbon footprint of healthcare institutions and a digital platform to manage the career trajectories of healthcare workers.

The lineup also includes improvements for the Alhosn app and a diabetes early detection program.

Along with the most recent advancements in the National Programme for Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation, or “Hayat,” MoHAP is also showcasing the accomplishments of the previous year’s “Tatmeen” platform, which tracks pharmaceutical items.

Abdulrahman bin Mohamed Al Owais, the MoHAP Minister, stressed that maintaining the UAE’s competitive edge and improving its distinguished position in the health field is a strategic objective that the health sector must pursue in cooperation with strategic partners.

“This objective, in line with the UAE’s leadership’s visionary outlook, will not only improve the quality of life but also the community’s well-being.

The UAE’s globally acclaimed achievement in healthcare is based on its advanced health infrastructure, flexible legislation, and competent, trained workforce, all of which contribute to a world-class health system,” the Minister said.

Al Owais pointed out that Arab Health is a vital annual event at the regional and global levels, serving as a venue where the Ministry, in partnership with its public and private sector partners, displays the latest health projects, programmes, and initiatives that are consistent with the government’s strategies and the goals of “We the UAE 2031 Vision.”

He pointed out that the Ministry works to promote health sustainability and the quality of life through a holistic, preventive health system while also enhancing its resilience to climate change. The Ministry is dedicated to developing innovative policies and legislation and managing public health programmes to offer comprehensive, innovative, and integrated health services while using digital technologies and artificial intelligence.

Mansour Ibrahim Al Mansouri, the head of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, stated: “The health challenges encountered globally in recent years, coupled with the opportunities that arose from these challenges, have underscored the universality of healthcare. It’s a shared global responsibility that transcends individual countries and health systems.”

He added that their participation at Arab Health today demonstrates their dedication to emphasising the importance of global collaboration. He said they will do everything they can to strengthen the cooperation frameworks to create sustainable healthcare systems. These systems should be flexible, able to adapt to current and future changes, and committed to improving the quality of life for people worldwide.

Al Mansouri highlighted that investing in key areas such as life sciences, genomic sciences, health technology, precision medicine, and health data is essential for shaping the future of global healthcare.

He also said that Abu Dhabi is eager to display its accomplishments and outstanding experience in these domains, enhancing its reputation as a leading global healthcare destination.

Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, the chief of the Dubai Health Authority, stated: “The Arab Health 2024 reflects the UAE’s leadership in one of the most vital sectors: healthcare.
