Zhalay Sarhadi clarifies her statement about hiring Esra Bilgic

Pakistani actress Zhalay Sarhadi got under hot water for criticizing Turkish actress Esra Bilgic during an interview. However, she clarified her stance and said her statement was misunderstood by people. 

Earlier, Sarhadi had said that,

“We have short term gains. If you have chosen Halima and made her a brand ambassador over here, it’s a slap to our faces. It’s an actual slap to our faces. Why are you borrowing a star from another country?”

However, in her latest video, the Muqadma actress said,

“I said slap for those people who don’t promote our content and actors. The reason why I always talk about the economy is that if our jobs would be given to our own people it would be beneficial for Pakistan.”

She concluded by asking,

“Do you think giving our tax money to foreign actors in double currently is the right thing?”
