Faran Tahir, a Hollywood actor with a strong theatre background, has worked with some of the best talents in the industry, starring in films like Iron Man and Star Trek. He is set to make his debut in Pakistani films this Eid ul Adha with Umro Ayyar: The Beginning.

Guests on a podcast, Faran Tahir and Usman Mukhtar, discussed the industry and cinema. Faran Tahir mentioned replacing Sanjay Dutt in a Hollywood film.

He shared that “he was first selected for the role but then they roped in Sanjay Dutt. Sanjay later got into his troubles and he was taken in to fill in the role in the movie The Jungle Book 1994.”

He also spoke about the industry’s obsession with Bollywood. He said that “we should work like Bollywood does or Hollywood does but we need to bring our ideas too. He further added that we will never compare our industry to China and Japan so we do not need to compare ourselves to our neighbors either.”
