
NEPRA raises basic tariff by Rs7.12/unit on govt’s plea
ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the request of the government to increase basic tariff of electricity.
The NEPRA has raised the tariff by Rs7.12 per unit. The basic tariff for domestic consumers will be Rs48.84 per unit.
The regulatory body has issued the identical tariff for the whole country including Karachi and sent the notification of increase in powe tariff to the federal government.
The tariff for those consumers using from 201 t0 300 units per month will be Rs34.26, from 301 to 400 units will be Rs39.15, 401 to 500 units will be Rs41.36, 501 to 600 units will be Rs42.78, 601 to 700 units will be 43.92, more than 800 units will be Rs48.84.
Tariff rate per unit will increase by calculating the taxes. Rs 3.95 per unit will remain the same for Lifeline customers up to 50 units per month
Rs 7.74 per unit will be maintained for Lifeline customers from 51 to 100 units per month.
The federal government will issue a notification to increase the basic tariff of electricity. The federal government had filed an application with Nepra for uniform electricity tariff.
