According to White House official, the United States has evidence suggesting that Iran is on the verge of launching a ballistic missile attack against Israel.

Multiple news outlets reported that the US is also aiding in defensive measures to protect Israel from this potential assault.

An Israeli military spokesperson stated that no aerial threat from Iran has been detected yet, and assured that Israel’s air defense systems are fully prepared. He emphasized that any Iranian attack on Israel would have consequences.

Earlier, Israel announced that its commando and paratroop units conducted raids into Lebanon on Tuesday as part of a “limited” ground incursion, while the Iran-backed group Hezbollah claimed to have launched a series of missiles into Israel, including targeting its intelligence agency near Tel Aviv.

The Israeli operations in southern Lebanon, which began overnight, were described as limited and only ventured a short distance across the border, according to an Israeli security official, who noted that no direct confrontations with Hezbollah fighters occurred.

For months, Israeli forces have been conducting raids into southern Lebanon, uncovering Hezbollah tunnels and weapons stockpiles hidden beneath homes, along with invasion plans from the group, as stated by Israeli military spokesperson Daniel Hagari. He added that details of these findings are being declassified.

Hagari indicated that the evidence gathered during these operations would be shared with the international community, showcasing videos from soldiers’ body cameras and maps. Hezbollah has not responded to these claims.

A spokesperson for Hezbollah said that the Israeli military had not entered Lebanese territory but stated that Hezbollah would be prepared for direct confrontations if they did.

Two Lebanese said that Israeli units had crossed into Lebanon overnight for reconnaissance and probing operations.

In a statement, Hezbollah announced that it had launched the “Fadi 4” missiles at military targets in the suburbs of Tel Aviv, Israel’s commercial hub. This missile is the fourth in a series that has increasingly larger payloads and extended ranges, which Hezbollah has begun utilizing in recent weeks.

The group also claimed to have targeted the headquarters of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency, which they accuse of assassinating Hezbollah commanders and leaders, as well as a military intelligence unit on the outskirts of Tel Aviv.

Israel’s ambulance service reported that two individuals were injured by shrapnel from the missile barrage, and traffic was disrupted by a missile fragment that fell onto a highway near Kfar Qasim, east of Tel Aviv.

During a meeting with UN organizations and ambassadors from donor countries, Lebanon’s caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stated that the country is facing one of the most perilous times in its history, and they jointly appealed for over $400 million in aid to manage the escalating hostilities.
