ISLAMABAD – The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) has imposed a Rs1 million fine on Hassan Ali Khan Laghari for sending obscene messages on WhatsApp.

FOSPAH, led by Fouzia Waqar, held Laghari accountable for harassment and fined him Rs1 million. The President House has confirmed the FOSPAH’s decision, rejecting the accused’s appeal against the order.

The penalty of Rs1 million remains in place as FOSPAH’s final decision.

Syeda Gulbadan, a spokesperson for FOSPAH, had filed the complaint accusing Laghari of sending inappropriate messages. However, Laghari denied the allegations.

FOSPAH found Laghari guilty of violating the law concerning the protection of women against workplace harassment.
