PTI founder approaches LHC for bail in May 9 cases
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) founder has approached the Lahore High Court(LHC) for bail in May 9 cases.
Former prime minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has approached the High Court for release in eight cases of May 9.
Imran Khan has filed a bail petition in other cases including the Jinnah House attack, in which it has been stated that on May 9, he was in the custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Islamabad. Imran Khan termed the cases against him as an act of ‘political revenge’.
PTI founder told the court that he has been subjected to ‘political victimization’ and facing several ‘fabricated’ cases for two years, requesting the court to approve his post-arrest bail.
The PTI founder approached the LHC after his bail plea was rejected by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in eight May 9 cases including the Jinnah House attack.
A hearing on the fake receipts case against the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi took place at the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad. However, once again, no decision could be reached regarding their bail application.
The bail hearing was conducted by Additional Sessions Judge Afzal Mujoka, during which Bushra Bibi’s legal team submitted a request for exemption from personal appearance.
