KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared Tuesday, August 4, a public holiday for all public and private schools across the province in observance of Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).
According to a notification issued by the Sindh School Education Department, all government and private educational institutions will remain closed on 20 Safar to mark the religious occasion.
The announcement applies to schools throughout Sindh and is intended to facilitate observance of the Chehlum commemorations.

Earlier, The Sindh Education Department has directed all public and private schools across the province to operate six days a week starting Aug. 1, according to an official notification.
The notification states that all government and private educational institutions in Sindh will follow a Monday-to-Saturday schedule, with regular classes to be held throughout the six-day academic week.
The new directive will take effect from Aug. 1 and will apply to schools across the province as part of the education department’s revised operational schedule.
The education department has instructed all public and private schools to implement the notification and ensure compliance with the updated weekly timetable.
