LESCO teams detected massive power theft in Lahore
LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) teams on Saturday detected massive power theft in Lahore and imposed heavy fine on factory owners.
LESCO Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shahid Haider, the owners of a furnace mill in Shalimar area of Lahore were stealing electricity by installing mobile transformers. After registering a case against the accused, the process of deduction bill has been started.
Shahid Haider said that a few days ago a big electricity theft was caught from a steel mill in the same area, both the mills have been fined more than one billion rupees while the process of deduction bill has also been started.
He further informed that influential power thieves are being caught with the help of Rangers.

Members of the Federal Cabinet, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Provincial Chief Ministers and high-level government officials were present in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting was “Measures against Spectrum of illegal activities & Criminal Mafias”. The participants were briefed in detail on steps taken against the criminal mafias, smuggling, hoarding, money laundering, power theft and repatriation of illegal foreigners etc.
