GUJRANWALA:  The mother of fast bowler Hassan Ali was robbed in an unfortunate incident in Gujranwala.

According to the cricketer’s brother, Khurram two armed men on a motorcycle snatched her purse and fled the scene. The stolen bag contained Rs. 230,000 in cash.

Police have confirmed that checkpoints have been set up in the area and assured that the suspects will be apprehended soon.

Earlier, three-match T20 International series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is set to commence on Wednesday (today).

All matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Ahead of the series, the trophy was unveiled on Tuesday, and both teams held intensive practice sessions in Lahore to finalize their preparations.

Speaking on the occasion, Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha stated that the playing XI will be decided in consultation with the coach. He emphasized that no team is easy in international cricket and acknowledged Bangladesh as a strong and competitive side.

He stressed that no team is to be underestimated in international cricket, acknowledging Bangladesh as a strong side.
