New Passport policy for Children: Parents need to know this!
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has implemented key changes to its system, directly impacting how families manage identity and registration documents in Pakistan.
Under the new policy, NADRA will no longer accept the old B-Form for passport applications. Instead, parents must obtain the updated Child Registration Certificate (CRC) to apply for their children’s passports.
NADRA officials made this decision to ensure each child has a separate, verified identity and to strengthen the security and reliability of their data.
NADRA has granted legal status to the Family Registration Certificate (FRC), allowing people to use it in inheritance matters, court cases, and other legal processes.
The National Database and Registration Authority has transformed the Family Registration Certificate (FRC) from a general identification and record-keeping document into one with official legal weight. The authority has also updated the FRC format to reflect various family structures.
The new format now lists details for families consisting of parents and siblings, husbands and wives with children, and even men with multiple marriages—each marriage’s family details appear separately.
