Sisaket, Thailand: After three days of clash on border conflict Thailand has agreed for ceasefire with Cambodia.

Thailand announced late Saturday that it has agreed in principle to a ceasefire with Cambodia and to initiate a bilateral dialogue aimed at resolving their most severe conflict.

The Southeast Asian neighbours exchanged heavy artillery fire for a third straight day Saturday, as a border conflict that has killed at least 33 people and displaced more than 150,000 from their homes spread across the frontier.

“Thailand agrees in principle to have a ceasefire in place,” the foreign ministry said in a statement on X.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had said that he had spoken to Thailand and Cambodian leaders and both were ready for ceasefire, when the two countries meet the ceasefire terms, they will be given the opportunity to talk to the United States on a trade agreement.
