Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, will undertake an official visit to Saudi Arabia from August 25 to 26, where he will attend the Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah.
Following his visit to Dhaka, Mr. Dar will travel directly to Jeddah to participate in the high-level OIC meeting, which has been convened to discuss a unified response to the ongoing situation in Palestine.
The session will focus on the current crisis in Gaza, including Israeli aggression and proposed plans for military control over the region. OIC foreign ministers will deliberate on the serious violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and explore collective strategies to address the issue.
During the meeting, Pakistan will reiterate its longstanding support for the Palestinian cause at international forums. Ishaq Dar is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine, and call for a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from all occupied Palestinian territories, including Jerusalem.
Pakistan will also strongly reject any plans for Israeli military control over Gaza and emphasize the urgent need for humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population.
Furthermore, Dar will reiterate Pakistan’s call for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.
On the sidelines of the OIC meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of key member states.
