Multan: Hakeem Shahzad, a well-known social media personality and husband of TikToker Dania Shah, has been arrested by the Crime Control Department (CCD) for allegedly hosting a controversial dance party in Shujabad near Multan.
The arrest follows the circulation of a viral video on social media platforms that appeared to show Shahzad organizing a mujra (traditional dance performance), during which guests were seen throwing money at dancers. Shahzad’s wife, Dania Shah, also appeared briefly in the footage.
According to CCD officials, Shahzad was taken into custody from his residence after authorities reviewed the online content, which sparked public backlash—particularly as the event reportedly took place amid ongoing flood crises affecting various parts of the country.
Following his arrest, Shahzad released an apology video in which he appeared wearing modest clothing and a prayer cap. In the video, he expressed deep remorse for his actions, stating:
“Today, CCD called me and advised me, making me understand. I am very ashamed.”
He acknowledged making inappropriate remarks online and admitted the dance party was a lapse in judgment. He further promised to donate the entire amount spent on the event to flood victims and appealed for public forgiveness.
“I promise to change my behavior and seek mercy from the authorities and the public,” he said.
Shahzad is a prominent figure on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, where he shares traditional remedies, health tips, and lifestyle advice. The incident has sparked widespread debate online about the responsibilities of influencers and public figures.
