Islamabad: The government of Singapore has announced a contribution of $50,000 in humanitarian aid for the people of Pakistan affected by the recent devastating floods.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore, this amount will serve as seed money to support the fundraising campaign launched by the Singapore Red Cross (SRC) to help flood victims in Pakistan.

The ministry said the Singapore government’s contribution will add to the SRC’s own pledge of $50,000 to meet the urgent needs of affected communities. It also expressed condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the floods.

In a statement, the Embassy of Pakistan in Singapore said this gesture shows Singapore’s solidarity with the people of Pakistan during this difficult time and will support ongoing relief and recovery efforts.

The SRC had launched its fundraising drive last week to help those affected by the mid-August monsoon floods in Pakistan and has already committed $39,000, which will now be boosted by the Singapore government’s support.
