KASHMORE: The water level in the Indus River is dropping at the Guddu Barrage, while the water flow is rising at the Sukkur Barrage, the barrage control room said on Monday.

Officials said the river remains in high flood at both Guddu and Sukkur barrages, while it is in low flood at the Kotri Barrage downstream.

According to the control room, the water inflow at Guddu Barrage has fallen from 635,759 cusecs to 624,456 cusecs, showing a drop of 11,303 cusecs. The outflow at Guddu Barrage stands at 594,936 cusecs.

The control room said the water level at Guddu is likely to keep dropping in the next few hours, but the high flood situation still continues.

Irrigation officials confirmed that all protective dykes are safe.

Meanwhile, the control room reported a rise in water flow at Sukkur Barrage, which is also facing a high flood. The inflow at Sukkur Barrage has reached 556,217 cusecs, while the outflow stands at 492,667 cusecs.
