Two key witnesses record statements against PTI Founder, Bushra Bibi

RAWALPINDI: During the hearing of the Toshakhana II case, two key witnesses recorded their statements against the Pakistan Tehreak e Insaf(PTI) founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi.

The witnesses include the PTI founder’s former principal secretary, Inamullah Shah, and private appraiser, Sohaib Abbasi.

In his testimony, Abbasi admitted that he deliberately undervalued a Bulgarian jewelry set under pressure from Inamullah Shah, who instructed him to set the value at Rs. 5 million.

Abbasi further alleged that Shah threatened to have him blacklisted from government departments if he refused to comply.

He stated that he later confessed before the NAB Chairman, sought forgiveness, and signed a statement. Abbasi also confirmed before a magistrate that he had undervalued the jewelry set out of fear.

According to his account, Abbasi appeared before a NAB investigation officer on May 23, 2024, and submitted a written apology. On May 25, 2025, a Section Officer from the Cabinet Division handed over the jewelry set to him.

Abbasi added that he voluntarily provided all relevant documents to NAB.

On the other hand, former Founder PTI Principal Secretary Inamullah Shah acknowledged that Sohaib Abbasi had asked to reduce the value of the jewelry seat.

He said he continued to receive salaries from both PTI and government jobs, he said, taking double celebrity from 2019 to 2021.

The former principal secretary revealed that he was fired at the displeasure of Bashrai Bibi, but there was no double celebrity complaint.

During the Toshakhana II case proceedings, key witness Inamullah Shah stated that Bushra Bibi suspected her brother of having close ties with Jahangir Tareen.

He further told the court that he was serving as the Controller at the Prime Minister’s House while being posted at the Bani Gala residence.

According to NAB officials, the Bulgari jewelry set was presented as a gift to the PTI founder and his wife, Bushra Bibi, by the Saudi Crown Prince. However, the gift was never deposited in the Toshakhana, as required under official rules.
