Experts say the rise is mainly because of higher international gold prices and changes in the interbank exchange rate, which directly affect local prices. In the world market, gold became $54 more expensive, touching $3,940 per ounce. Analysts believe this happened because of global financial uncertainty and inflation fears, which made investors prefer gold as a safe option.
