NADRA expands globally with new overseas centers
ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) announced that its service centers are now fully operational both in Pakistan and overseas.
According to the latest update, NADRA centers are running smoothly in several Western, North American, and Middle Eastern countries — including Canada, Italy, Bahrain, and Jordan — with facilities active in major cities.
The authority currently operates two centers in Canada (Montreal and Vancouver) and one in Milan, Italy, while centers in Manama, Bahrain, and Amman, Jordan, are also fully functional. These overseas offices have been set up to make services such as CNIC, NICOP, and other registration facilities easily accessible to the Pakistani diaspora.
NADRA also shared plans to open a new center in Rome, Italy, soon, further expanding its global service network.
Recently, the authority revised the fee structure for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) — a mandatory document for Pakistanis traveling abroad for work, study, or residency. NICOP holders can travel to Pakistan without a visa, and the card is available to citizens living in countries such as Germany, the UK, the US, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
To streamline the process, NADRA has divided countries into two zones:
Zone A: Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States
Zone B: Saudi Arabia and the UAE
The new NICOP fees are as follows:
Zone A:
Standard (30 days): $39 / Rs10,978.50
Urgent (12 days): $57 / Rs16,045.50
Executive (7 days): $75 / Rs21,112.50
Zone B:
Standard (30 days): $20 / Rs5,630
Urgent (12 days): $30 / Rs8,445
Executive (7 days): $40 / Rs11,260
Applicants can also make non-printable field modifications for $5 (Rs1,407.50) under the executive service.
For duplicate or multiple record clearances, NADRA charges $10 for similar records and up to $250 for major discrepancies, depending on the zone. Inland applicants pay between Rs1,000 and Rs10,000, based on the case type.
For age modification, fees range from $5 (for changes up to one year) to $125 (for second-time updates).
NADRA officials have urged overseas Pakistanis, especially those traveling to countries in Zone A and Zone B, to apply for their NICOP well in advance to avoid processing delays.
