Renowned Qawwal Ustad Rasheed Ahmed Khan passes away

Faisalabad: Esteemed Qawwal Ustad Rasheed Ahmed Khan, known for his deep-rooted contributions to classical and Sufi music, has passed away following a fatal heart attack in Faisalabad.

Ustad Rasheed Ahmed Khan was a devoted disciple of the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and maintained a long-standing musical association with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. He was also the elder brother of Ustad Rasheed Rafique, further enriching the legacy of Qawwali within the family.

His passing marks a profound loss to Pakistan’s traditional music scene. His soulful renditions and dedication to preserving the essence of classical Qawwali earned him wide respect across generations of listeners.

According to the family, funeral prayers will be offered today at 2:00 PM in his native village, 192 RB Rasool Nagar, Faisalabad.
