The government has decided to establish an expert-led Artificial Intelligence (AI) advisory panel to supervise and support the execution of AI projects in Pakistan, aiming to strengthen technology-based economic development.

While leading a meeting about the promotion of artificial intelligence, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the importance of protecting data, ensuring privacy, and maintaining data sovereignty.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister ordered the creation of a Steering Committee that will monitor and implement AI-related policies effectively.

Officials and experts discussed how to speed up the use of modern technology and grow the digital economy.

Shehbaz Sharif said that improving the AI sector will modernize the economy and increase efficiency in different industries. He explained that AI will be used to raise industrial output, make government systems more transparent, and create new job opportunities for young people.

He also emphasized that artificial intelligence should be used to make the digital economy more effective and faster.

The meeting was attended by Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Bilal Azhar Kayani, Bilal Bin Saqib, senior government officials, and AI experts.
