Karachi: The Government of Sindh has enacted Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure across the entire province for a period of one month, effectively restricting public assembly.
The Sindh Home Department issued an official notification confirming the imposition of a complete ban on all forms of rallies, processions, sit-ins, and public gatherings within Sindh.
This decisive action was taken following a request from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, who cited the need to ban all types of demonstrations and assemblies exceeding five individuals.
The Home Department emphasized that these measures are crucial for the maintenance of law and order and the preservation of peace throughout the province.
Furthermore, the Station House Officer (SHO) of the respective police station has been officially authorized to initiate legal proceedings against any individuals found to be in violation of this order.
