Gaza: At least two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli drone strike near Khan Younis on Monday, according to medical officials at Nasser Hospital, as tensions persist despite a declared ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

The latest attack came as Hamas handed over the remains of another Israeli captive, part of an ongoing process to return the bodies of 12 Israelis still held in Gaza. The exchange follows mounting Israeli pressure on the Palestinian group to locate and release the remains.

Meanwhile, Palestinians are struggling to access food, water, and medical supplies as Israel continues to restrict humanitarian aid entering the besieged enclave.

Local authorities report that dozens of Palestinians were buried this week after Israel returned bodies in exchange for the remains of Israeli captives. Many of the returned corpses were reportedly unrecognisable and bore signs of torture and mutilation.

In diplomatic developments, Israel’s Foreign Minister said that Turkish soldiers will not be permitted to join a proposed international force, led by the United States, to oversee the fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
