Thieves stole 600,000 euros worth of high-end goods from the home of a Saudi princess in Paris.
The princess, on returning to the apartment discovered that bags, watches, jewellery, and furs worth nearly $720,000 were missing. She had not set foot in the apartment since August. The bounty included around 30 Hermes bags worth between 10,000 and 30,000 euros each, a Cartier watch, some jewellery and fur items.
Being in a state of shock, she was hospitalized. The princess whose name has not been revealed has not yet spoken to the police officials.
The thieves entered the apartment without using force, as stated by a source close to the case. The apartment is located near the swank Avenue George V, in the heart of Paris.
Paris police’s special anti-gang unit will be handling a formal investigation.
Le Parisien newspaper reported that an early suspect was a man who had been staying at the princess’s apartment since August. The paper added that a spare set of keys to her apartment were missing.
