British multinational engineering company and car maker Rolls-Royce has announced its plan to create 6000 jobs after inaugurating a new project of 16 mini nuclear plants in the United Kingdom.
According to the details, Rolls Royce in its statement said that the new project will create 6,000 new jobs in the UK amid the rising rate of unemployment in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The Prime Minister of Britain has also announced to finance the project with an amount of at least £200m, as a step to improve the national economy.
In addition to this, the British government says new nuclear is essential if the UK is to meet its target of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
Earlier in May this year, Rolls Royce announced to lay off 9,000 employees in response to the financial crisis
According to the company’s chief executive, Warren East, “We are reviewing our footprint because obviously when you wind an operation down below a certain level then it becomes uneconomic so that might be possible.
But again we have to consult with our unions and do a thorough run through with the unions on exactly where the job losses are going to be,” he told media officials.
Rolls-Royce Holdings plc is a British multinational engineering company incorporated in February 2011 that owns Rolls-Royce, a business established in 1904 which today designs, manufactures and distributes power systems for aviation and other industries.
