The University of Health Sciences in Punjab announced on Friday that the MBBS and BDS exams will not be held online.
According to the details, the UHS Vice-Chancellor Professor Javed Akram met Pakistan Medical Students Action Committee Chairperson Dr. Nouman Wattoo and other members of the student committee on Friday.
The varsity’s VC made it clear that online exams are not possible contrary to the students’ demands.
He said that already that four months will go to waste for online exams’ preparations and further added that the government had already announced to reopen the universities across Pakistan from February 1.
The VC said that during the exams all the coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPs) will be followed. The student action committee will be taken into confidence for practical exams once the theoretical exams are over.

Dr. Akram also made it clear that students’ safety and health was the university’s top priority and advised the students to focus on their studies.
On the other hand, the VC said that the university’s administration would try to find out a way for the students who will be unable to attend the exams from Azad Jammu and Kashmir due to the lockdown.
It is pertinent to mention here that ss some universities and colleges decided to take physical exams, students raised their voices against the decision.
They organized protests and raise the slogan “We want online exams”. Students of Science College protested in Lahore against the administrations.
Students in Faisalabad, Islamabad, and Peshawar also protested to raise a voice for the cause. As a result, some universities have now decided to take online examinations.
