Dr. Faisal requests people to comply with SOPs to control spread of COVID-19

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan on Monday requested people to fully follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Addressing media in Islamabad, he highlighted that burden on the health care system has increased following a surge in positivity ratio especially in the big cities of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.

He also said that religious scholars will ensure compliance to the SOPs in the mosques during the holy month of Ramadan as was seen in the previous Ramadan.

Faisal Sultan informed the media that process of vaccination is underway and asked the people aged above sixty-five to get themselves vaccinated without an appointment.

He also asked people aged above fifty years to get themselves registered for vaccination while those above 60 should get the vaccine on the given date.

Asad Umar tweeted after a meeting of the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) today.

He tweeted that Administration has been asked to ramp up compliance enforcement to avoid a crisis-like situation.

“SOPs compliance remains very weak & pressure on hospitals is increasing,” he wrote.
