BEIJING: Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Wednesday exchanged messages of congratulations on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Under the care and guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations in recent years have continued to develop, and bilateral practical cooperation has achieved remarkable results, Wang said in the message.
The two sides have joined hands to confront the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the friendship between the people of the two countries has continued to deepen, he said.
Wang added that he is willing to work with Cavusoglu to jointly promote the long-term, healthy and stable development of China-Turkey strategic cooperative relations in accordance with the principles and directions set by the two heads of state.
The Turkish side sincerely hopes to continuously develop relations with China, which not only serves the common interests of both countries, but also contributes to regional and world peace and prosperity, Cavusoglu said in the message.
