Pakistan vs WI: Babar Azam showered praise on Fawad Alam

Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam expressed optimism on Saturday that his team will avoid trouble and meet the targets set for the second day of the Test match.

The 26-year-old right-hand batsman, Babar Azam said, “We will achieve the targets as Muhammed Rizwan and Faheem Ashraf are still present on the crease.”

“We aim to set a target between 300 to 350 runs in the first innings,” he added.

The skipper stated that the pitch at Sabina Park favored bowlers from the start of the game, but Fawad Alam maintained his full support following the loss of three early wickets.

Azam said, “Both of us decided that it was vital to stay on the crease for long.”

“I told Fawad Alam that we will have to strike a long-term partnership to steer the team out of trouble.”

“So we set out targets session after the session while eyeing to score 300 to 350 runs in the first innings,” he added.

Azam stated that he was working hard to improve his performance in the game’s long format. He was overjoyed that his hard work was bearing fruit.

The skipper also praised teammate Fawad Alam, saying that other cricketers should learn from how he performs under pressure.

“Fawad Alam is in excellent form and he is playing marvelous cricket,” Azam said.
