Iran says that the Ukrainian passenger plane was ‘unintentionally’ brought down, state news reported.
Iran’s military says that the attack was carried out due to “human error” after the plane flew near the sensitive site that belonged to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.
It was also mentioned in the statement that people who are responsible will be held accountable.
Citing intelligence believed that the plane was accidentally crashed.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Iran has brought down the Ukrainian plane.
Evidence indicates that Iranian missiles mistakenly shot the plane down.
President of Iran Hassan Rouhani has mentioned the statement in a tweet.
Armed Forces’ internal investigation has concluded that regrettably missiles fired due to human error caused the horrific crash of the Ukrainian plane & death of 176 innocent people.
Investigations continue to identify & prosecute this great tragedy & unforgivable mistake. #PS752— Hassan Rouhani (@HassanRouhani) January 11, 2020
Also, the foreign minister of Iran Jawad Zarif has also tweeted regarding the statement.
A sad day. Preliminary conclusions of internal investigation by Armed Forces:
Human error at time of crisis caused by US adventurism led to disaster
Our profound regrets, apologies and condolences to our people, to the families of all victims, and to other affected nations.

The leaders of the UK and Canada have asked for a full investigation of the plane crash.
Justin Trudeau said while addressing a news conference in Ottawa, “We have intelligence from multiple sources, including our allies and our intelligence. The evidence indicates the plane was shot down by an Iranian surface air missile,”
He added, “This may well have been unintentional,”
“At least 63 Canadians were on board, and a total of 138 passengers on that flight were connecting to Canada-all people who won’t be coming home to their parents, their friends, their colleagues or their family.”
On the contrary, a spokesperson from Iran justifies the statement.
Ukrainian plane crash-Tehran refuses to give black boxes or Boeing
Ali Rabie, a spokesperson for Iranian President, quoted that Justin’s opinion regarding the crash is impossible.
“We are at a point that satellite images can read our [license] plate numbers, so if there was a missile hitting a plane, then … the satellite footage would have been available,”
“Apart from that, we have the ‘black box’ [flight data recordings]. We have asked the government of Ukraine to come, and we can give them the black box and analyze it together. Everything will become clear that it was just an accident.”
