Jamie Lee Curtis said she would only do the film provided she didn’t have to “conceal the reality” of who she was, something she had done since she was a youngster.

The 63-year-old actress captioned an Instagram photo of herself dressed as her character Deirdre Beaubeirdra: “There is a billion-dollar, trillion-dollar industry in the world dedicated to the concealment of information. Concealers. Body-shapers. Procedures. Fillers. Clothing. Accessorize your hair. Hair care products Everything is done to hide the truth about who we are.”

Lee Curtis, the daughter of late Hollywood luminaries Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, said she would only do the film if there was “no concealment of anything.”
“And my instruction to everyone was: I don’t want anything to be hidden,” she continued. Since I was 11, when you start being mindful of boys and bodies, and the clothes are really tight, I’ve been sucking my stomach in. I made the conscious decision to resign and relax every muscle I used to clench in order to hide the truth. That was my intention. I’ve never felt more creatively or physically liberated.

After being delayed by the COVID-19 film, the ‘Trading Places’ actress characterised the film as “a Magical Mystery Tour of a movie” and is “so happy” for it to be exhibited at the South by Southwest festival.
