A victim of hit and run dies at last after surviving injuries for 11 years
Eleven years after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver, a San Jose lady couldn’t survive her wounds.
Shea Olivia Shaw kicked the bucket at age 26, yet she was only 15 when a silver car collided with her promptly in the first part of the day of Jan. 8, 2011. Shaw was incapacitated, experienced a horrendous cerebrum injury, and spent somewhere around 16 months in a coma.
Police never tracked down a suspect for the situation. Observation video from a service station surveillance camera close to the scene was too grainy to even think about evening recognizing the make and model of the vehicle.
Shaw was heading back home from a party with her sweetheart when she entered a noticeable crosswalk on Camden Ave. in south San Jose, police said.
The driver of the vehicle pushed through Shaw and scarcely dialed back prior to heading out, as per the police.
At that point, Shaw was an understudy at Los Gatos High School. The school united behind her and her family, with many individuals appearing at the clinic to visit Shaw.
“They sort of needed to end that,” her dad Robbie Shaw told in 2011. “In light of her condition, she can’t be invigorated in any capacity.”
Shaw’s condition worked on imperceptibly throughout the long term, and her family even spent piece of the pandemic in Hawaii, as per the Mercury News. Be that as it may, Shaw’s wellbeing started declining when her family moved back to the Bay Area in January. She passed on April 19 in hospice care.
“The quick in and out examination will be re-opened with an end goal to produce drives,” San Jose police said in an official statement.
