New Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer

A new teaser for the impending Star Wars movie has to be number one on any list of ways fans may commemorate May 4, also known as Star Wars Day. Thankfully, Disney and Lucasfilm released a brand new teaser for Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi in 2022, which will be available on Disney+ on May 27.

Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi takes place 10 years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Ewan McGregor plays everyone’s favourite Jedi Master in Kenobi. Kenobi is on Tatooine, keeping a watch on a young Luke Skywalker, but Darth Vader, his old student, is still on the lookout, ordering lethal Inquisitors to track down and destroy Kenobi.

The teaser is chock-full of little glimpses into both the Empire’s chilling rise—Inquisitors scouring the galaxy for Jedi, Stormtroopers marching through alleyways and streets in oppressive groups—and Obi-effort Wan’s to safeguard Luke, which pits him against Luke’s new guardian, Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton, returning from Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith).

But, of course, it wouldn’t be Star Wars without a climactic tease of a recognisable face… or, in this instance, the familiar arm and torso of a certain Sith Lord: Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Darth Vader.

“You can’t win, Obi-Wan!” The Second Sister, Moses Ingram’s new Inquisitor, yells at her captive, probably over his upcoming confrontation with his fallen brother. “You can’t escape him!” Obi-Wan can’t, and neither can we.
