Grain allegedly taken from Ukraine arrives in Syria on a Russian ship

A Russian cargo carrying grain reportedly stolen from Ukrainian fields has arrived at the Syrian port of Latakia, according to new satellite images.

This is the freighter’s second trip in four weeks.

The bulk freighter Matros Pozynich was photographed on May 27 in Latakia, according to new pictures released by Maxar Technologies.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, three ships have been carrying grain in the Crimean port of Sevastopol.

It was last seen in Sevastopol on May 19 and was traced south to the Turkish coast after traversing the Bosphorus strait.

The ship’s cargo capacity is believed to be around 30,000 tons of grain.

In the last two weeks, the Matros Pozynich’s sister ship has also loaded grain in Sevastopol.
