What’s Jemima Goldsmith’s wish?

Following the conclusion of the six-week-long trial into actor Johnny Depp’s accusations that ex-wife Amber Heard defamed him, Jemima Goldsmith, a British journalist and former wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, offered her thoughts on the entire incident on Thursday.

“I wish Johnny Depp will immediately release a statement waiving all Amber Heard’s damages, admitting it was never about the money,” she said on Twitter.

Jemima also expressed her hope that Depp will tell the haters to leave her alone and wish her well.

Following an extensive trial based on highly contested charges of domestic abuse, a US jury held both Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard responsible for defamation — but sided more strongly with the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star.

After determining that a 2018 essay written by Heard about her encounter with “sexual violence” was slanderous to Depp, a seven-member jury in Virginia awarded the 58-year-old actor $15 million in damages. Meanwhile, Heard was given $2 million in damages by the panel.
