
Elliot Page delighted with new passport photo after gender change
- Elliot Page spoke out about the criticism he faced after coming out as transgender in December 2020.
- The Umbrella Academy star opened up about his feelings after transitioning in a piece for Esquire Magazine.
- “I can’t exaggerate the biggest thrill, which is genuinely seeing oneself,” he wrote. I know I appear different to others, but I’m just now beginning to look like myself.”
“It’s incomprehensible, because I’m just like, hey, there I am.” And thank God for it. “I’m here,” the 35-year-old added. “The greatest satisfaction is simply being here, literally just being present.”
The actor went on: “To go out with a fresh set of people and be able to participate in a way that didn’t make me want to run from my body, this never-ending sense of anxiousness, uneasiness, and wanting out,”

“When I say I couldn’t have imagined feeling that way, I mean it in every sense of the word.” “He revealed.
Elliot wrote of the day he came out as transgender, saying, “I wasn’t expecting it to be so large. In terms of actual reaction quality, it was exactly what I expected: love and support from many individuals, and anger, cruelty, and vitriol from many more.”

He went on to say that when he came out as homosexual in 2014, things were different, adding, “Transphobia is just so, so, so intense.” The hate and brutality are far more pervasive.”
