Marc Silverstein and Busy Philipps have parted their ways

After 15 years of marriage, Busy Philipps and Marc Silverstein divorced in 2021, according to her podcast, Busy Philipps Is Doing Her Best.

“It’s been a pretty long time since Marc and I haven’t been together,” she told her co-hosts, adding that “our kids know, our families know, our friends know.”

She further said on the programme that they split up in February 2021 and have kept it a secret since then. Busy, 42, and Marc, 50, married in June 2007 and have two daughters, Birdie Leigh, 13, and Cricket Pearl, eight. She stated that their decision to divorce was reached after great deliberation.

“The truth is, there’s a preconceived notion of what a public figure should do when their relationship ends, and it’s been well established, right?” “I’m busy,” said the speaker. “Like, you make a statement, you’re committed to remaining friends, and you say things like, ‘Please respect our privacy and the privacy of our family during this time,’ right? She went on to say, “You don’t have to hang to a proven strategy simply because it’s been done before. It’s something I truly believe.”

According to People, she also discussed earlier friction in their relationship in the November 2018 issue of Parents magazine, revealing that Marc was not a particularly supportive dad after the couple welcomed Birdie.
