Former Pakistani skipper Javed Miandad turns 65 today. He was considered one of the most successful cricketers in Pakistan cricket.
The legendary cricketer had amassed 8832 Test runs while scoring 7381 runs in ODIs.

His Test average was never below 50 throughout his career. He was the only Pakistani player to have played the first six editions of the Cricket World Cup.
The 65-year-old cricketer was a part of the glorious moment when Pakistan lifted the world cup for the first time in 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan.
Miandad has set many records. He became the youngest batsman to have scored a double ton in his career. The right-hand batsman was only 19 years old when he achieved the milestone. He played an outstanding 206-run knock against New Zealand in 1976. His inning included 29 fours and two sixes.
He also holds the record for the most number of back-to-back half-centuries (9) in a career. His streak included four fifties against England, three against arch-rivals India, and one against Australia and Sri Lanka each.
Miandad became the second Pakistani cricketer to score a century on his Test debut against New Zealand in the first Test in 1976.

He is well known for his aggressive temperament on the field. During the match between India and Pakistan, Miandad was frequently observed making remarks about Indian players.
Miandad was also noted for his verbal sparring throughout his career.
He once stunned the world by copying Australian bowler Dannis Lillee’s bowling action.
Javed Miandad was recently inducted into the PCB hall of Fame.

He stepped down from his international career in 1996 after having poorly performed in that year’s World Cup. He has coached the national team many times and has held key positions at the PCB.
