The prince wore a grey suit with a black top hat, while his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, wore a blue dress with a fascinator to the event.

The duo took the lead in the Ascot Racecourse parade in place of Queen Elizabeth II, who was unable to attend the opening day of racing.

Peter Phillips, Princess Anne’s son, was in Charles and Camila’s carriage, while the 71-year-old Princess Royal was in another.

The Queen’s absence has yet to be explained by Buckingham Palace, however, she has been suffering from mobility concerns since 2021. Elizabeth recently skipped many Platinum Jubilee celebrations due to “discomfort.”
