Pat Maroon of the Tampa Bay Lightning has a little more incentive coming into the Stanley Cup Final against the Colorado Avalanche, which begins Wednesday night.
Maroon will be attempting to win his fourth Stanley Cup in a row. He won with the St. Louis Blues in 2019 and with the Lightning in back-to-back seasons.
But he’s playing with even more zeal against the Avalanche. However, Maroon has publicly professed his dislike for corporate magnate Stan Kroenke.
“Stan Kroenke irritates me. I’m a native of St. Louis. “I can’t tolerate that guy because he stole the Rams from St. Louis,” Maroon stated on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Tuesday.”
The current Los Angeles Rams team owner brought the franchise from St. Louis to the West Coast.
Kroenke held ownership shares in both the Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets before being compelled to sell them in order to get majority control of the Rams. He gave his wife, Anna Walton Kroenke, ownership of the teams.

“It stinks to have something (the Rams) taken away from us. I know we had some difficult years. Chris Long, a former Rams defensive end, would often tell me, ‘I mean, our teams are dreadful.’
Then he goes on to win back-to-back Super Bowls “Maroon said.
“So it’s as if you travel from one setting to another and wonder why… But the supporters in St. Louis are fervent, and I can’t tolerate that guy (Kroenke) for booting them (the Rams) out.”
In this playoffs, the veteran has appeared in 17 games for Tampa Bay. He has three goals as well as an assist.
