WhatsApp has been gradually introducing new features to improve the user experience. The messaging app was found to develop a feature that would allow users to hide their connections from certain persons. WhatsApp has finally brought out the feature after months of testing. Users will be able to hide their last seen and status updates from persons they don’t like with WhatsApp’s new feature upgrade.

WhatsApp announced its new feature on Twitter which stated, “To further protect your privacy online, we’re rolling out new options to your privacy control settings. Now you can select who from your contact list can see your Profile Photo, About, and Last Seen status.”

Before this update the App had only three options, such as “Everyone”, “My Contacts” and “Nobody.” Now WhatsApp users also have the “My Contacts except” option.

Your last seen, profile photo, about, and status will be visible to all WhatsApp users if you select the “Everyone” option before writing a status. If you choose ‘My Contacts,’ only your address book contacts will be able to see your last seen, profile photo, about, or status. Similarly, if you select ‘My Contacts Except…,’ your last seen, profile photo, about, or status will be available to your address book contacts, except those you exclude, and if you select ‘Nobody,’ your last seen, profile photo, about, or status will be unavailable to anybody.
