Your profile photo can now be hidden using WhatsApp
- The Meta-owned platform has just announced that it is rolling out granular options for who can see your profile data.
- Users can hide their last seen and online statuses, as well as profile pictures, from specific contacts.
- If you choose to hide your Last seen status from others, you will also be unable to see theirs.
It was discovered that WhatsApp was testing new privacy restrictions; that would allow users to hide their last seen and online statuses, as well as profile images; from select contacts – a much-needed antidote to competitor Telegram.
After seven months, the Meta-owned platform has now revealed; that those granular settings for who can see your personal data are being rolled out.
It’s worth noting that if you conceal your Last seen status from others; you won’t be able to see theirs either.

To try it out, navigate to the app’s settings, Account, Privacy; and then tap on the desired personal information to hide.
Here, too, the new My contacts option should be present.
