The Hollywood actress Lea Seydoux will play Lady Margot in Dune: Part Two. Lady Margot is Paul Atreides’ most important ally in his fight against the House of Harkonnen.
In Frank Herbert’s book Dune, the mother of Paul, Lady Jessica (Ferguson), gets a dire warning from Lady Margot about the treachery that will happen on Arrakis when House Atreides takes over from House Harkonnen. This is the first time Lady Margot appears in the story.
That scene was cut from Villeneuve’s film, but Lady Margot, a Bene Gesserit, does play a significant role in the second half of the narrative, which centers on Feyd-Rautha and her husband, Count Fenring (a role that has yet to be cast).
The first installment of a two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel Dune by Denis Villeneuve was released in 2017. It followed Timothée Chalamet’s character Paul Atreides as his family, the illustrious House Atreides, was drawn into a conflict over the dangerous and hostile desert planet Arrakis. The epic science fiction has been praised at many award shows, and the 94th Academy Prizes have put it up for 10 awards.
