Horrific Video: Huge shark can be seen swimming only a few metres away from a paddleboarder
Unaware beachgoers enjoying the ocean were in the water when a bull shark approached within a few metres of them. This terrifying incident was captured on camera.
Bull sharks are frequently to blame when a shark attacks a human because they are territorial by nature and quickly aroused.
Drone pilot Paul Dabill was shocked to see how near they had come, despite the fact that they are known to frequent shallow waters.
At his neighbourhood beach, Mr. Dabill from Jupiter in the US state of Florida, was flying his drone when he saw one encroaching on a paddle boarder.
They are typical, he said. Every time I fly my drone during specific times, I notice them.
However, they rarely approach any closer than 50 feet from the beach; this one did, which is unusual.
The curious predator can be seen approaching the beach in Paul’s video before gliding straight past the paddleboarder who appears to be unaware of its presence.
Then, when a woman exits the water seemingly unconscious of what is hiding behind her, it moves in close proximity to the surf.
The shark finally turns toward a group of snorkelers before turning around to gaze at the paddleboarder once more.
The shark, according to Mr. Dabill, 47, was likely drawn to the beach by the promise of food.
He emphasised, however, that only two scenarios would call for an attack.
“One is if a person is swimming or surfing in the area and the shark is in shallow, murky water chasing baitfish,” he said.
The shark can then unintentionally bite the victim while pursuing the baitfish.
The diver spearfishing situation is the alternative scenario.
Sharks will charge into the area and try to consume the speared fish once a fish has been shot because it will struggle and bleed.
“The shark might accidently bite the person if the spearfisherman is close to the speared fish.”
Sharks don’t want to attack people, he continued.
“If a shark bite occurs, it almost always results from the shark making a mistake or from a person getting in the shark’s way and becoming a prospective meal for the shark.”
