
Taylor Swift debuts folksy Where the Crawdads Sing soundtrack song ‘Carolina’, Listen
Taylor Swift new song “Carolina,” part of the soundtrack for the forthcoming film Where the Crawdads Sings, has arrived following a drop in the wee hours of Friday.
The song is a folk melody that would go in well in the movie’s gothic North Carolina marshes. Swift croons in the lyric video as excerpts from Where the Crawdads Sings play, “O Carolina creeks/Running through my veins/Last I was born/Lonesome I came/Lonesome I’ll always stay.”

On Thursday, a mysterious message from the celebrity’s Taylor Nation Twitter account revealed the single’s release information.
“There are things that only Carolina knows… and you soon will too,” the post read. “Taylor’s original song #Carolina is out at MIDNIGHT ET.”

Swift also posted a video with the description “Carolina Midnight” that included an image of a rural stream and a small audio sample of her singing “Carolina knows.”
“Carolina,” which was produced by her Folklore and Evermore collaborator Aaron Dessner, is Swift’s first new song since Red (Taylor’s Version), which was released in November of last year.
Where the Crawdad Sings, which is based on the mystery novel by Delia Owens, stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People) as Kya, a lady who is left behind by her family and must struggle to survive alone in the marshes of North Carolina. But when her ex-body boyfriend’s is discovered, she is accused of murder. Director Olivia Newman (First Match) and screenwriter Lucy Alibar collaborate on the adaptation of the dark best-seller (Beasts of the Southern Wild).

The movie, which was made by Reese Witherspoon, also stars David Strathairn, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer, Jr., and John Smith.
Swift shared the film’s trailer in March, expressing her own love for the book.
“Where The Crawdads Sing is a book I got absolutely lost in when I read it years ago,” she wrote. “As soon as I heard there was a film in the works starring the incredible @daisyedgarjones and produced by the brilliant @reesewitherspoon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it from the musical side.”
