Internet cries once more after listening to ITBP officers’ heartfelt performance of “Afreen Afreen”
One of the clearest signs that music crosses all boundaries and unites people is arguably the appeal of Pakistani songs in India. Currently, a video of two members of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is going viral online for their lyrical performance of “Afreen Afreen.”
Constable Vikram Jeet Singh can be seen singing the popular song with gusto in a video that the ITBP posted on its social media channels while being accompanied on the guitar by Constable A Neli. The Himveers’ little video, which showcases their musical prowess, has netizens clamoring for more.

To the pleasure of internet users, the border police unit shared the video with the caption “Gaate Gunagunaate Himaveer (singing Himveer)”.
Netizens were moved by the performance and asked the force to post more of the two’s footage. In an effort to get a response, many people also tagged Pakistani artist Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The ghazal song written by Javed Akhtar, which was originally conceived and performed by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, became extremely popular on both sides of the border after being reimagined in season 9 of Coke Studio Pakistan. Khan’s nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Momina Mustehsan sang it together in the popular rendition.
Another Coke Studio Pakistan hit from season 14, “Pasoori,” has recently taken the world by storm, especially in India, where even well-known Bollywood stars can’t get enough of it.
